Coney Island

Today i decided i was going to go to the amazing Coney Island alone and see what it was like with out a friend or two. It was great actually not having anyone there i was able to explore the beach and i felt like i was somewhere else no where near New York City. For the past two years my friends and I have gone to Coney Island when the weather gets nice. I think we should totally make it an annual thing. Today it was pretty overcast but i think i did pretty well. Let me know what you think

The texture of the rocks and clouds is amazing.

Passing
I really like the way this photo is framed. There
are people passing is the cross walk, people
passing on the side walk, and the trains
are passing each other.

After School

The angle of the flying bird is pretty cool.
Also the texture of the wooden pier
is very interesting.

Hunting

Lacking Life

This woman was fishing and looked
so powerful and content.

You can almost count the grains of sand.

This looks like the barricade from
the other photo but it's not.
It seems so mysterious.

Here's Coney Island on a cloudy day...

More from the City by The Bay

I'm back in New York now, after my super quick trip to San Francisco. I had a really great time seeing the family and a few friends. The weather was just what I needed. I also needed my west-coast beach fix, which I definitely succeeded in. I'm glad to be back, but I'm not to happy about the weather, apparently it is suppose to snow early in the morning, really crazy. Well here are a few more photos from San Francisco.

The view from Potrero Hill, San Francisco, CA.

Sarah on the phone.

I really just like the tones in this photo,
it's nothing special, except for the
person in it.

I think these windows are super cool.

And these ones too.

There's Twin Peaks, those two hills
next to each other, for those of you
who don't know.

There's piece of the skyline and a little
chunk of the freeway.

That's it for this post.

West Coast

Yesterday I went to the beach in Half Moon Bay, California, not to far from San Francisco. It was beautiful, the water was a blue green color. The was sun was extremely bright and created this yellow tone on the sand and rocks. I've been going to this beach since I was a little girl with the fam and the dogs, this time it was just part of the fam and one dog but I still enjoyed myself. This beach is actually the beach where the Mavericks are located. Mavericks is a famous surf spot just north of Half Moon Bay. After winter storms in the Pacific Ocean waves can start out at about 25 feet and peak as tall as 50 feet in this location. I think each year someone either gets hurt or dies, due to the danger of the enormous waves. Well I didn't get to much stuff but at least you can see how beautiful the beach is.

I love the light that comes through the rickety
legs of the pier. It kind of makes the pier look
as if it would collapse if anyone were to step foot
on it. I actually think that cars drive on this pier
despite the fact that it doesn't look so stable.

Usually you can't walk over these rocks because the
tide is usually to high. Yesterday there there was this
clear passage way to get to the other side of the peace,
where the Mavericks are.

Here you can see how far the tide is out, all the
seaweed washed a shore.

I really like the colors in this photo. The
yellows in the rocks and the red shoes and
blue jeans just kind of pop.

When the waves get rough they crash against
these rocks and act as a barrier to protect the
boats that come into this small bay.

Hope to have more up in the next two days.

Spring is Here, it's Official

Went Prospect Park yesterday, had an amazing time. It was so warm and there was a ridiculous amount of people just out and about. I went with a bunch of people, and finally walked the entire park which I thought would have been entirely more difficult then it was. I was so excited about the weather that I wore my new sandals, oh what a big mistake that was. I got two huge blisters on the bottom of both of my feet, which ended up exploding on the way home, which I have to admit was nasty. Overall the day was one of those days where you have no expectations and it turns out to be amazingly wonderful.

Caroline.

These guys were doing these crazy jumps,
it was awesome.

Hackie Sack!

This tree was huge, I assume it fell in that crazy
weather last weekend. It was amazing to
see the huge roots out
of the ground.

A Bit from the Past

Here are a few photos from the past three years that I thought would be worth posting. I have a bunch more but I've really got to work on scanning them. Some are digital and some are film, and here they are.

These photos have not much to do with each other, but they are
pieces from my past, and there are some more to come. With the
next pieces from my past will come some piece of my present.

The Sound

It was an amazing day today, i think it was in the mid 50's. The sun was so warm and beautiful. I was out in Long Island on the north shore at Caumsett Park. I walked around for a few hours and was taken away with how wondrous this park was. Lots of naked trees that looked like they could tell a few stories. Yellow crispy grass getting ready to start growing again. And the sky was a cloudless vibrant blue. Anyways I had a great day and i think i even got a little sunburned. Here is what i have to show for it.

Amazing tree.

Boy Climbing

Rest Stop

Huge tree washed up on shore accumulating debris.

The shore.

The texture of the water makes me think
of skipping stones.

I just love this tree. It's kind of creepy but
so interesting.

Hope the weather stays like this.

Inspire me

Here are another few photos from the past few days, nothing i'm really to excited about but i'm just trying to get my work out there. I feel like i'm struggling with producing work that I am truly proud of. I think that is mainly because i am am scared of what people may think. But from now on i need to just put it out there and see what happens in return. If someone doesn't like some of my work i can't let it kill me it will only make me stronger...haha. Well if anyone has any thoughts let me know cause i'm open to new ideas and inspiration.

An abandoned construction site, really wished i
could have gone in but there were some
weird looking guys in there.

A seatless place to sit.
